Well, Christmas has come and gone. I got a whole new shorter belt amongst my gifts to celebrate my thinning waist. However I challenged that a little with calorie consumption, and less than usual walking for the day yesterday.

Presents also included carton of candies and sweets and a fifth of Scotch, both of which I will consume, however little by little and most significantly, with a perfect recording of the calories on my daily journal. I firmly think you could eat anything you want, so long as your record the calories.

Joan, as always, produced more food than even our crowd could eat, therefore the refrigerator is full of remainders. Few landmines hidden in there along with some fruit and salad items that're on the more virtuous path.

Again the answer is to consume properly and keep count of calories. We allowed a bit of a blowout yesterday, and the hormonal response to the feast might have elevated our metabolism that can be a good thing, if we close down the intake today and stay on track at least till New Year's eve.

Now a week away is the next event, New Years Eve and day. This could very well be a repeat for lots of people. Which makes the intervening week all the more significant to button down the hatches, and get back on program.

It is even time to begin thinking about the new year. New Year's resolutions are well known for getting made and ignored. That doesn't mean your resolution needs to be disregarded as unlikely to succeed. It's yours to make, and yours to keep. And you could make it work.
